PM Academy
The PM Academy is a series of face-to-face and online modules designed to deepen participants' understanding of performance management and increase the internal capacity of districts to implement and sustain performance management district-wide. This program will help district leaders understand the value of performance management and build a strong foundation in fundamental performance management skills. Participants will gain a working knowledge of multiple performance management methodologies and related research studies, as well as information collected from the field in effort to improve student achievement through performance management. The academy is based on a train-the-trainer model to ensure district level capacity is built to support performance management within the participating districts.
Blended Delivery Approach
The PM Academy incorporates a blended delivery approach that combines three elements: Face-to-face training sessions at a central site which may include guest presenters, roundtable discussions and group work; a learning management system for online interactive training and document sharing; and web conferencing technology for live audio and video presentations and discussion. All live sessions are captured and archived for future use. This blended approach allows for synchronous and asynchronous delivery as district staff can access training on demand at their convenience yet participate in real-time collaboration with project leadership or other participants.
Case Study Methodology
Throughout the academy, a case study approach with a focus on learning through joint, co-operative effort will be applied. To tie together key learning objectives with real district situations, each district team will also work on a district case study throughout the span of the academy. Opportunities for dialogue across districts will be provided through the use of various technology tools.
